About SRCF
Through the years, William and Katherine Snee began
a tradition of making contributions to a variety of organizations
for the continued development of programs that were of wide benefit
in many areas. With each gift William and Katherine gave, it assisted
the organization in the development of programs for public benefit
whether it was in the area of education or medical research. Neither
William nor Katherine ever sought any public recognition for their
philanthropy. It was after the passing of her husband that Katherine
decided in 1983 to establish the Snee-Reinhardt Foundation in order
to continue giving contributions to organizations working to better
society.
Five years after its inception, the Foundation Bylaws were reviewed
for the purpose of expanding its grant giving capacity. In 1988,
the Bylaws were approved creating the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable
Foundation. The changes in Bylaws have allowed more latitude in
supporting a larger variety of grants, all of which have an impact
on the social issues that we face every day.
Even though the Foundation encompasses many broad areas of concern,
or categories, there is no one area that the Board of Directors
deems more important. The Foundation has a continual quest to aid
organizations who are endlessly striving to serve the community
by improving social conditions in a multitude of areas. It is in
serving the community through supporting the development and implementation
of these social purposes that are of interest to the Foundation.
